Kindy Woodwork Incursions
Get children hands-on using simple tools to build their own creations.
Make+Meld Kindy Woodwork Incursions are designed for children ages 3 to 5 years.
Incursions are run as term-long weekly / fortnightly programs OR as one-off incursion days or at your centre.
Sessions run for 45 mins to 1 hr (with up to 25 children per session)
Each of our Kindy workshops are facilitated by trained and enthusiastic Make+Meld Facilitators.
Risk assessments and pre-visit support information are provided for all incursions.

Stacking Boats
WOODEN BOATS
Kids learn to use screw drivers and hammers and consider size, shapes, numbers and patterns as they are guided to build and decorate their own little wooden boat stacking toy.
Learning to use tools safely (Hammers, screwdrivers), following step-by-step instructions, and imaginary play.

Little Wooden Cars
Children build their own wooden push-toy vehicle complete with driver + passenger. This hands-on woodworking project gives kids the opportunity to learn to use real tools safely. They then decorate their vehicle and its passengers using stickers.

Wooden Robots
Explore moving parts and get hands-on with woodworking tools. Kindy kids are guided to use hammers and screw-drivers safely to build and decorate their own wooden robot character!

Little Chickens
Work on the fine and gross motor skills as children assemble and decorate little wooden chickens.

Friends of Ten Abacus
This engaging woodworking project introduces Kindy age children to 'Friends of ten' numbers. A wonderful Maths learning toy!

Get into the Christmas Spirit while strengthening those little hands as kids use screwdrivers to make their own Christmas ornament.

A fun loose parts session in which kids choose the shape and type of vehicle that will make.

Wooden Skittles
Kids autonomy is encouraged as they tinker with woodworking parts and tools to screw, hammer and create their unique skittle sculpture or collaborative classroom skittle game.

Cameras Phones
Kids can make this fun play phone whilst developing fine motor skills and practicing number recognition. There will be hammering, gluing and screwing and a toy to take home and be proud of.

Mini Towns
Children build their own mini wooden town complete with buildings, trees, vehicles, boats and people. This project is a great way to explore connection to place through play.

Echidnas
Children and guided to use a hammer and nails safely as they create their own little wooden Echidna. We love seeing kids confidence grow as they master a new skill.

Fathers Day Nook
Our special father's day project is a 'Wooden Father's Day Organiser Nook' which children build using real tools (hammers and screwdrivers) and then give to their father/father figure on father's day, complete with personalised message/drawing.
