Terms and Conditions

​Before enrolling yourself or your child in any of our workshops, programs or activities you are required to agree to the following Terms and Conditions of enrolment.

​ENROLMENT AND REFUNDS

Enrolment

Enrolment in Make&Meld Workshops, Programs and Activities can be booked through our online booking system, over the phone, or in person at our Make&Meld workshop located at 23/133 Hyde Rd, Yeronga.

​If booking in advance, we will send you an email confirming your place in the workshop/program via the email address provided on enrolment.

​The number of attendees that can attend a workshop/program is capped to ensure a quality experience for our participants.

Maker Fun for Little One's (Ages 3 to 5 – weekday morning workshops)

Our Maker Fun workshops must be booked and paid for prior to participation.

​All children must be accompanied by a parent or carer. 

Maker Fun - All ages (Wed and Fri afternoon workshops)

​Our afternoon Maker Fun workshops must be booked and paid for prior to participation.

​All children 6 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent or carer.

Design's cool! program (7-13 years)

​Design's cool! program runs on Thursday afternoon from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

​Places in these workshops are based on 10 weekly blocks (aligning with the Queensland school terms) with payment for all 10 workshops required upfront on enrolment. Towards the end of each term, you will receive notification via email to enrol for the following term. Your or your child’s place in the following 10-week term block will only be confirmed upon enrolment and payment of fees.​

Special workshops/events

Fees and age requirements will vary between events. Please refer to our website program for details of up and coming special workshops/events.

Fees and Payment

Current Fees for all workshops and events are outlined on our website.

Payment Methods are by Credit Card on-line, Eftpos or Cash in person at Make&Meld, 23/133 Hyde Rd, Yeronga.

Cancellations

Please consider your workshop booking carefully before you enrol, as we do not offer refunds. Make-up lessons are available provided there is availability. If you or your child will not be attending a workshop and require a make-up lesson notification must be received at least 24 hrs prior to the commencement of the workshop.

​Make&Meld reserve the right to cancel a workshop / program due to unforeseen circumstances. If applicable a refund or transfer to another workshop will be offered to enrolled participants.

Make-up lessons

Make up classes are subject to availability. You must contact Make&Meld via email or phone to discuss availability.

Trial Classes

While we do not offer trial classes please feel free to contact us for further information to help you determine if a workshop is suitable for you or your child.

Safety of participants

We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all Make&Meld participants and will endeavour to provide a safe and supportive environment learning environment by:

  • treating all participants with respect, understanding and addressing participants concerns as they arise.

  • ensuring that all our teachers, instructors and volunteers hold current Blue Cards.

  • enforcing a strict code of conduct for all our teachers, instructors and volunteers.

  • ensuring that our workshops and programs are engaging and age-appropriate.

  • limiting the size of our workshops and programs, to ensure that teacher to participant ratios are appropriate

  • creating an inclusive learning environment.

​Unacceptable behaviour and/or language will not be tolerated. Make&Meld reserves the right to refuse any participant or parent that present a disciplinary problem to staff or a threat to the safety and well-being of other children or parents.​

PRIVACY

​Any personal information Make&Meld collect will be retained in order to provide services to you. We will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information from being disclosed.

​When enrolling, enquiring or registering, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information, information about yourself or your child or other details which will be used to help you with your experience at Make&Meld.

​We may use the information we collect from you when you register, enrol or sign up for our newsletter in the following ways:

  • To provide updates about events

  • To process your transactions

  • To send emails regarding your order or other services

  • To follow up with you after your phone or email inquiries

​INDEMNITY Terms & Conditions

Acknowledgement of risk of personal injury, waiver of liability and acceptance of risk

As part of participation in workshops and activities at Make&Meld you or your child may be learning to use basic tools (including, but not limited to, hammers, saw, screw-drivers, hand-drills, scissors, cutting blades, hot-glue guns, staplers etc) and may be using craft and construction materials (including but not limited to glues, paints, dyes, wire, plastic, resin, wood, metal etc).

I understand there will be experienced instructors teaching and supervising the use of these tools and materials and that the introduction and use of tools and materials will be based on age and level of ability. I understand that Make&Meld instructors will take all reasonable measures to ensure the safe use of tools and materials by teaching safe use and by provision of safety equipment where necessary. I understand however that the use of such tools and materials comes with inherent risk of accidents and injuries.

I acknowledge the inherent risks that cannot be eliminated.  I hereby release and indemnify Make&Meld its employees, teachers, instructors and volunteers from any loss, damage or injury I may suffer or incur, or my child may incur or sustain, whilst attending or participating in any activity run by Make&Meld. Therefore, in consideration for making a decision to participate in activities at Make&Meld.​

Emergency Medical Treatment Consent / Permission to receive First Aid

​In the event of an accident or emergency, Make&Meld may be required to take immediate action to obtain urgent medical treatment during workshops, programs or events.  Make&Meld will always attempt to contact your or your child’s emergency contact person (provided via the enrolment form) as soon as possible following an accident or emergency.

​I hereby authorise and grant permission for Make&Meld and its employees, teachers or instructors to take whatever action necessary in the event of an emergency and I release and hold Make&Meld and its employees, teachers or instructors harmless in connection with any such action taken or for any omission made by Make&Meld.

​Additionally, I hereby agree to indemnify Make&Meld for all medical expenses which may be incurred as a result of an injury sustained while participating in a Make&Meld, workshop, program or other activity.

Property damage - Responsibility for personal possessions

​I understand that I have sole responsibility for all personal possessions that myself or my child bring onto the Make&Meld premises, and I hereby release Make&Meld and its employees, teachers or instructors from all liability for any loss or damage to such property.

No warranties for materials provided or products made

​Make&Meld provide participants with all materials required for our creative design workshops, programs or activities. During workshops participants use materials to create, design and make their own products or work.

​I understand that materials that are provided by Make&Meld, and products/works that the participant has made at Make&Meld, come without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

​Media Indemnity

During Make&Meld workshops, programs or events we may take photographs or videos of participants and/or their work. This material may be published on the Make&Meld website and social media pages (the Make&Meld Instagram and/ or Facebook page), or for other advertising (e.g Local Newspaper).

I understand that it is my responsibility to advise Make&Meld in writing prior to commencement of the workshop, program or event (via the enrolment form provided) if I do not wish to have my or my child’s images used in publications or for media purposes.

Disclaimer

I acknowledge that Make&Meld have used their best endeavours to ensure that the information contained herein is true and accurate, however I acknowledge and agree that Make&Meld accepts no responsibility and disclaims all liability in the event of any error, misrepresentation or inaccuracy of such information.

This acknowledgement of risk, waiver of liability for personal injury and property damage and emergency medical consent, having been read thoroughly and understood completely, is agreed to voluntarily as to its content and intent.
